WrinkleMD update

Okay, I've used a couple of the packets of eye pads now and am feeling like a pro using this gadget.  Here is some of what I found: Put the snaps on the pads while on the plastic and only peel a little bit away, then handle only by the snaps.  Comes off way easy. Definitely use the method I posted last time off getting the skin taught and peel a little bit and continue bit by bit.  So much less pain. I've taken to rotating my eye cream and apply some after I clean the area afterward. I have noticed a difference using the wrinkleMD system.  I will definitely be ordering some more eye pads.  I wonder if there is a place like on amazon that you can get them a bit less pricey?  Well, anyways it worth it.  I am still thinking of botox, but it doesn't feel like its a must do anymore.

wrinkleMD™ Eye Hyaluronic Filler Patch 30-Day Starter System

Okay, I'm 35 as of November and I'm dealing with my insecurities of aging.  I've been blessed with good genes, and have always looked younger than my years.  Most people I've had comment on my age believe that I am in my twenties.  However those fine lines are appearing and suddenly I am no longer being looked at as a younger lass.  Ouch! My ego hurts.  So I am of course looking for anything to stop the clock (or reverse).  I tried botox about three years ago as a preventive measure.  I was very happy with the results, but had trouble swallowing the cost.  Every once in a while though I get a wild hair and splurge on something new.  This time I was online at Nordstrom and saw the wrinkleMD.  I checked out reviews online and saw that HSN also had a package, but it was slightly different.  I'm give and take on HSN, so I went with Nordstrom.  It cost $129.00 for the starter package.  It came with the electronic gadget you clip onto the eye pads and the base has a clip

Brrrrrrrr it's cold!

It has been so cold lately.  I must admit that I am being a bad dog mommie with the walks.  I know they need more exercise, but I've been cutting the walking distance.  I'm a wuss.  I did however get a new pair of Boggs so I can at least walk them without my toes going numb on me.  Perhaps that will do the trick. The skies are clear and there is only a small amount of snow on the yard.  The streets are clear except for some ice patches and it is turning out to be a really weird winter here so far.  Usually we are dumped on with snow and it warms up a bit.  Sometimes I cannot believe that I live in a place that is buried in snow most of the year, when the sky is covered it means that its warmer out, and that when the temperature goes from -6 to 10 you start thinking about if you need your coat. Today is the day after Thanksgiving.  My husband is sick, so we ended up not going to my brothers for dinner last night.  And, of all things, I'm at work.  My boss is not one of t

Almased again

Okay, so I know Almased works.  And, as my weight scale and tight clothes tell me that I've added some bulk recently, I am restarting the program.  So nice to think that I can just fall back to it.  I just need to be a bit more strict with my approach this time on keeping the weight off.  I didn't post the remainder of the diet for everyone last time, but that would be due to the monotony of the posts.  There are other things besides my shakes going on. This morning, I have my shake with Almond Breeze unsweetened coconut vanilla milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and stevia in my blender ball shaker.  Tastes pretty good, and it's cold which is a must for these shakes.  I will need to replenish my Almased canister at work as I am down to one more shake after this one.  Just enough to get me home.  I also have my NSA veggie boullion to drink, and I know from experience, that I will need to make sure that I drink it.  Especially before I leave work.

Almased Morning of Day 5

Oh my gosh, I was so tired yesterday.  But I stuck to the plan completely. I had three shakes yesterday, switching up the flavor ever so slightly.  I have found that I actually enjoy the flavor of Almased.  I didn't put the oil in my afternoon shake, but the broth cubes have an oil in them so I wasn't too worried about it.  I had two snacks of veggie broth. To combat my afternoon craving, and to make sure that I didn't end up in a restaurant parking lot, I had my afternoon broth about an hour before I left work.  Seemed to do the trick for the most part.  I went from my normal cheerful self to kind of mean and grumpy.  I normally only get that way if my blood sugar is low, so I figured I better get my evening shake in as soon as possible.  That seemed to do the trick. After that I was reading in my chair and just feeling exhausted.  It was only 6:30 p.m., but I felt like I just had to lie down.  I ended up waking once, which is good because I got to set my alarm clock

Almased Day 4

Okay, so the weekend apparently was not the time to start my diet.  My husband came home from his business trip and I had dinner's to go to.  I did get in a couple of shakes and tried to keep the meals that I did eat low carb.  Today is Monday, and I get to restart in a way.  Back to shakes only for a short bit and then I can continue on. I started at 152 lbs. and got down to 149 after one day.  With everything going on, that weight has maintained.  I think a lot of that has to do with the shakes.  I look forward to seeing what the scale has to say to me tomorrow. This morning I had my shake with 8 tablespoons Almased, 10 oz. of unsweetened chocolate almond milk, 1 teaspoon of maca, 1/2 cap full of vanilla, 2 packets of stevia, and a couple shakes of cinnamon. Lunch's shake will be 8 Tablespoons of Almased, 10 oz. of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 2 packets of stevia, couple shakes of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon powdered green tea. I went to the store and had gotten a coup

Almased Day 2

This is the morning of day 2 for me.  I thought I would check in early and update you all.  Everything with the diet went well until after work.  My lunch is from 12-1 and I did have some tea and water after that, but could not get myself to drink the broth.  I stopped off at the store on the way home to pick up a couple of things.  By the time I was almost home, around 5:10 p.m., I was starting to get crazy cravings.  I seriously almost landed myself in front of a restaurant trying to figure a way to justify solid food during the liquids only portion of this diet. I finally told myself no and got my bootie home.  I made my shake right away and made sure to add the flax oil I forgot during the day.  I still was having some cravings for carbs, but I think a lot of that was also my habits of bad eating that I just need to break. My husband came home from his business trip that night and before I knew it, he had a glass of wine in my hand.  I did end up having a couple of glasses, w

Almased?

So I heard about Almased though one of my many searches on the internet.  As I have been unhappy for a while, I looked a bit closer after I saw an ad for it in a natural health magazine.  At first I thought it was ridiculous.  It was more like just starving  yourself.  That was the extreme short term diet apparently. After I started looking it at it a bit more, I got to wondering.  No hurt in trying.  The fasting period is quite short with the diet program I chose.  Only 2-3 days.  There was another with about a week, but that was the one that looked all crazy. I read a LOT of comments on this product on Amazon and took some advice from there on how people like to mix it.  I am going to be mixing mine with unsweetened almond milk (can switch out for the unsweetened chocolate almond milk), a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, a shake or two of cinnamon, 2 packets of truvia (stevia), a spoonful of EVOO or flax oil.  I have a vitamix for at home and a blender ball mixer for while I am away or at

Yummy treats

Image
So I am subscribed to Rawmazing, which I totally recommend.  Recently she made a post of a new recipe for cookies.  These things are soooooooo delicous.  I brought a couple batches to work, sent some off with a friend for their trip.  And the nice thing is that they are raw!! They are comprised of almonds, chia seeds, coconut, salt, vanilla, grapeseed oil, sweetner, with a puree of fresh strawberries on top, then dehydrated.  I used a flaked coconut that I ground down, the almonds were soaked and dried and for my sweetener I used coconut nectar and a touch of stevia.  So yummy!!  I might try it with blueberries instead of strawberries next time. http://www.rawmazing.com/raw-strawberry-thumbprint-cookies/   Photo from Rawmazing

Back at it again

So I haven't been feeling quite up to par, so I changed my diet again.  It's helped somewhat, but it was a major struggle.  Meat is out.  I am not juicing every morning, but I am trying for about every other.  LOTS of veggies, and trying for mostly raw.  This of course takes some prep due to making it work around my schedule, but now that I've kind of gotten into my groove, it's not too bad. Recent items that I made include: Radish Kimchi ( which I got from Maangchi, http://www.maangchi.com/recipe/kkakdugi and made with soy not fish sauce) Marinated veggies (faux stir fry) with shiritake noodles Veggie rolls with nonroasted nori  Cashew cheeze Flax "Pizza" chips (made with leftovers from my juicing and some extra ingredients) Munchie mixture (Golden berries, goji, mulberry, raw cacao nibs, raw cashews) My average juice contains: Romaine 1/2 cucumber 1" ginger small handful parsley 4-5 carrots 3-5 stalks collard greens 1 lemon (whole
